Getting healthier or for weight loss or eliminating your body of toxins, green juices and smoothies are incredibly healthy and great for managing all while boosting your metabolism so your body burns more fat efficiently. It is a delicious way to consume fruits and vegetables and include them in you daily diet.
Although drinking green juices is not equivalent to the benefits of eating whole vegetables, as juicing removes lot of fiber and can add calories if sugar is added. It can be an important part of a healthy eating plan, especially if you’re short on time but not a replacement.
While there are a variety of green juices and smoothie recipes out there that are incredibly good but this one just tastes amazing and is our family favorite. It has a great taste and is a perfect cleansing alternative to your morning cup of coffee. Added ginger boosts digestion, increases circulation and is a great detox for winter. If you are new to the world of green juices and smoothies, I suggest you start out with a milder version like this one. It is super healthy and delicious with no added sugar.

2 cups spinach, leaves only
3 celery stalks
3 medium red apples (not granny smith)
1 1/2 inch knob of ginger, peeled
Few drops of flax seed oil or 1 teaspoon ground flax seed
Pinch of star anise powder
Few chopped walnuts and almonds (optional)
Wash the vegetables and apple thoroughly and dry well. Cut the celery, apple, spinach and ginger into pieces small enough to fit into your juicer.
Process the ingredients, one by one. Pour the juice in a glass. add few drops of flax seed oil, sprinkle a pinch of star anise powder and top with chopped walnuts and almond. Enjoy!
Add all of the ingredients into the blender jug. Blend them on the highest level setting until the juice is well-blended. It will be thick and have the consistency of a smoothie.
Pour the mixture through a fine mesh sieve and press the pulp to extract as much juice as possible. Pour the strained juice into glasses, add flax seed oil/powder and serve sprinkled with a pinch of star anise powder and topped with chopped walnut and almonds.
